Title
Description
Recently, I attended the 3rd Convocation Ceremony of McDonald's Malaysia, which was held on September 20, 2022, at the UiTM Selangor Branch, Puncak Alam Campus.
Congratulations to the more than 400 graduates who completed the McDonald's Vocational Apprenticeship Programme under the National Dual Training System (SLDN) at 250 training centres under the supervision of 120 instructors. Since its inception in 2018, the programme has assisted over 3,500 graduates from diverse backgrounds to gain experience and be recruited into the hospitality or food services industry.
Hence, as of today, 30 staff have been promoted to Assistant Manager, while 120 staff have been appointed as Crew Leader. SLDN also received support from various government agencies, including Islamic religious departments and zakat centres, in encouraging the participation among the young generation of asnaf group.
According to McDonald's Malaysia, 50,000 job opportunities will be available for Malaysian youth by 2026 due to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between UiTM and McD Malaysia on June 10, 2022. I hope UiTM students will take advantage of this opportunity by enrolling in this partnership's apprenticeship programme established with MCD. This initiative may undoubtedly contribute to the Ministry of Higher Education's aspiration of empowering Bumiputera by raising the employability rate of UiTM graduates.
Thank you to all the staff and executive management team of McD Malaysia, especially Dato' Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director & Local Operating Partner of McDonald's Malaysia, for inviting UiTM officials and me to this event. Also, thank you for choosing UiTM as a strategic location for the graduation ceremony. I believe the surroundings of the campus inspired the graduates. Congratulations to McDonald's Malaysia Vocational Academy. ~RT
~RT
