The Combined Input Module From UiTM And McD Malaysia Will Add Value To Academic Quality, Preparing Nation's Future Talents

Description

On a blessed Friday, the Apprenticeship Programme and Memorandum of Understanding between UiTM and McDonald's Malaysia was signed by both parties. The event was opened with "Raikan Senyuman" in collaboration with UiTM GESTURZ and RMHC (Ronald McDonald's House Charities). I was delighted to see 19 of our student volunteers together with 20 orphans from Cahaya Kasih Bestari Care Centre/Kasih Bestari Charity House participate in a batik activity led by Ms Noriza Arzain, Fellow (Curatorial Affairs) UiTM GESTURZ and UiTM Alumni, Ms Aida Batrisyia Azliman, Creative Director of Teja Art & Crafts.
I saw YB Senator Dato 'Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, and Dato 'Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner of McDonald's Malaysia, doing batik activities with the workshop participants. Dato 'Azmir even bought the best batik work of the participants worth RM5,000.00 which was donated to Cahaya Kasih Bestari Care Centre/Kasih Bestari Charity House. Many thanks to Dato 'Azmir who is also the President of RMHC.
Dato' Azmir's story was incredibly inspiring to all of us. He started his career as a restaurant worker at Sungei Wang Plaza branch in 1992 and lo and behold, he is now number one at McDonald's Malaysia. He also shared how UiTM can enhance the marketability of graduates. YB Dato 'Masrizal's speech was very encouraging to all of us. His appeal for "budi" and his comments on the deep meaning of "reconnect" in UiTM tvc were much appreciated. In his speech, YB Dato' Masrizal said, "Success depends on the individual, not the story or the place he/she is in." He urged the UiTM to explore the impact of the apprenticeship programme so that more private companies come on board.
I will ensure that research begins with consideration of the key components he mentioned, which include knowledge, skills, attitudes, and symbiotic connections of Keluarga Malaysia to ensure the sustainability of the country. Meanwhile, the combined input module from UiTM and McD Malaysia will add value to the academic quality that will prepare the future talents of the nation.
The main campus in Shah Alam and the other 12 branch campuses; Samarahan, Kota Kinabalu, Machang, Dungun, Raub, Arau, Merbok, Permatang Pauh Seri Iskandar, Seremban, Segamat and Melaka City attended the event, together with the McDonald's outlets nearby where earlier a briefing session was held by Ms Amirah, a representative of McD Malaysia.
The collaboration between UiTM and McD Malaysia is coordinated by the Vice-Chancellor's Office under VCOSP (Vice-Chancellor's Special Projects) and consists of three programmes: the Management Apprentice Programme (MAP), the Graduate Employability Programme (GEP) and the Internship Programme (IP), all of which aim to provide career opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds, including B40 students and people with special needs such as persons with disabilities (OKU).
UiTM is targeting the participation of 4,000 students from 35 campuses in this programme, which is in line with the University's agenda to strengthen the employability of graduates in line with the Ministry of Higher Education's Strategic Plan 2021-2025, resulting in competent graduates as envisaged in GRU2025.
McDonald's will play its part in youth employability. The company aims to create 50,000 new jobs by 2026 and intends to invest RM300 million in training and development programmes.
I would like to thank everyone from UiTM, McD Malaysia and RMHC for helping to make this event a success and coordinating the MoU projects and activities between the two.
Finally, I would like to thank Datuk Seri Haji Mohammed Nasir, the Director of Government Relations of McD Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Mohamad Hariri Abdulah DVC of ICAN, Mr. Hilmy Sulaiman, the Senior Director of Legal & Franchise of McD Malaysia, and Mr. Mohd Nasri Nordin, the General Manager of RMHC.

MODUL GABUNGAN INPUT DARI UiTM DAN MCD MALAYSIA AKAN MEMBERI NILAI TAMBAH KEPADA KUALITI AKADEMIK YANG AKAN MEMPERSIAP SIAGA BAKAT MASA DEPAN NEGARA.
Terima Kasih, Dato’ Azmir selaku presiden RMHC.
