27,287 UiTM Graduates Were Celebrated At The 93rd Convocation Ceremony

Alhamdulillah, the 93rd UiTM Convocation Ceremony which started on 14 June ended its sessions on 6 July 2022. After a two-year delay due to the pandemic, graduates together with their family members could physically be present for the conferment of professional programmes, diplomas, first degrees, master’s degrees and PhDs.

The first session was graced by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, Tuanku Chancellor of UiTM. On that day, Tuanku Chancellor of UiTM agreed to inaugurate the proclamation of Her Royal Highness the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, as the new Pro-Chancellor of UiTM, at the Dewan Agung Tuanku Canselor (DATC), Shah Alam. Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj and His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj were also present.

In the meantime, I was also very excited because it was the first Convocation Ceremony for me as the 6th Vice Chancellor of UiTM.

This time around, UiTM held a convocation centrally at the Shah Alam campus for all campuses throughout West Malaysia. A total of 24,896 graduates attended the event between June 14 and June 28. Meanwhile, UiTM Sabah and Sarawak campuses held separate convocations between June 30 to July 6, 2022. A total of 728 UiTM Sabah graduates and 1,663 UiTM Sarawak graduates received their scrolls at the ceremony. The 93rd UiTM Convocation Ceremony graduates received their academic scrolls from the Chancellor, Pro-Chancellors and Vice Chancellor during the sessions, where a total of 14 graduates received the Best Graduate Awards.

Overall, the breakdown of scrolls awarded to graduates at the 93rd UiTM Convocation Ceremony is as follows:

• 169 Doctor of Philosophy Degrees

• 1,243 Master’s Degrees

• 163 Postgraduate Diplomas

• 9,024 Bachelor’s Degrees

• 62 Professionals, and

• 16,626 Diplomas

I was involved in the conferment of degrees to 13,756 graduates at this convocation and am exceptionally proud of all our graduates for their achievements. Congratulations to all the graduates, parents, families and Warga UiTM. Though the road has not been easy, Alhamdulillah we have endured all the hardships and emerged stronger than ever.

Meanwhile, UiTM is deeply saddened by the passing of the late Tun Arshad Ayub on the first day of the 93rd UiTM Convocation Ceremony. As the father of UiTM, the late was a respected and revered national education figure who led the early development of ITM (now UiTM). Let us recite Al-Fatihah in memory of the departed, may his soul be showered with blessings and placed among the believers.~RT

27,287 GRADUAN UiTM DIRAIKAN DALAM ISTIADAT KONVOKESYEN KE-93.

Alhamdulilah, Istiadat Konvokesyen UiTM ke-93 yang bermula dari 14 Jun hingga 6 Julai 2022 telah selesai majlisnya. Selepas dua tahun penangguhan akibat pandemik, para graduan serta ibu bapa/ ahli keluarga dapat hadir secara fizikal bagi penganugerahan program professional, diploma, ijazah pertama, sarjana dan PhD.

Sidang pertama telah disempurnakan oleh Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, Tuanku Canselor UiTM. Pada hari tersebut Tuanku Canselor UiTM berkenan mewasalkan pemasyhuran Duli Yang Maha Mulia Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin sebagai Pro-Canselor UiTM yang baharu, di Dewan Agung Tuanku Canselor (DATC), Shah Alam. Turut berangkat adalah Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj dan Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj.

Dalam pada itu, saya juga amat teruja kerana ini adalah Istiadat Konvokesyen yang pertama buat saya sebagai Naib Canselor UiTM ke-6.

Pada kali ini, UiTM mengadakan konvokesyen secara berpusat di kampus Shah Alam untuk semua kampus di seluruh Malaysia Barat. Seramai 24,896 graduan telah menghadiri majlis ini antara 14 Jun hingga 28 Jun. Sementara itu, kampus UiTM Sabah dan Sarawak mengadakan konvokesyen secara berasingan antara 30 Jun hingga 6 Julai 2022. Seramai 728 graduan UiTM Sabah dan 1,663 graduan UiTM Sarawak menerima skrol mereka pada majlis itu. Graduan Istiadat Konvokesyen UiTM ke-93 menerima skrol akademik mereka dari Canselor, Pro-Canselor dan Naib Canselor bagi keseluruhan sidang, di mana seramai 14 orang graduan menerima Anugerah Graduan Terbaik.

Secara keseluruhannya, pecahan bagi penganugerahan kepada graduan pada Istiadat Konvokesyen UiTM ke-93 seperti berikut:

Saya amat berbangga dengan semua graduan UiTM atas pencapaian mereka. Tahniah kepada semua graduan, ibu bapa, keluarga dan Warga UiTM. Walaupun jalannya tidak mudah sejak dua tahun lalu, Alhamdulillah, kita semua telah mengharungi semua kepayahan dan bangkit dengan lebih kuat dari sebelumnya.

Dalam pada itu, UiTM amat berdukacita dengan pemergian Allahyarham Tun Arshad Ayub pada hari pertama Istiadat Konvokesyen UiTM ke-93. Sebagai bapa UiTM, Allahyarham adalah tokoh pendidikan negara yang dihormati dan disegani menerajui pembangunan awal ITM (kini UiTM). Bersama kita sedekahkan Al-Fatihah buat Allahyarham, semoga rohnya dicucuri rahmat dan ditempatkan dalam kalangan orang-orang beriman. ~RT
