SOLAR

I spent my Saturday visiting the UiTM Solar Park 1, Paya Besar. UiTM Solar Park is estimated to be about 300 acres in size and is entirely managed by UiTM Holdings Sdn. Bhd. Mr Muhammad Mubarak Ishak, Acting GCEO and Mr Azmil Hayat Mohd Arif, Manager of Asset Management at UiTM Energy and Facility, who kicked off the event with a presentation.
The solar park is divided into five major sectors: the discovery centre, the research room, the operation room, the control room, and the observation deck.
I was told that, academics from the College of Engineering are also heavily engaged in solar power research. AP Dr. Nofri Yenita Dahlan ( Deputy Director, UiTM Solar Research Institute) is one of the researchers involved in the solar study and accompanied me during the visit.
Among the several studies is the Energy Efficiency Technology Research, a collaboration between the UiTM's Electricial Engineering and the Department of Public Works that received the QS GEN News top article award.
I thanked the management team for the time spent during my walkabout tour to the UiTM Solar Park. Apart from the solar equipment, the artistic paints on the broken/defective solar panels piqued my interest. Instead of being discarded, the panels were transformed into art pieces to beautify the office's interiors.
My trip to Paya Besar was followed by a tour of the Bukit Sekilau campus and Padang Lalang, where we discussed the potential and income generation prospects of these locations. My thanks go to Prof. Dr Mohd Ilham, Rector of UiTM Pahang, AP Dr. Wan Mohd Nazri, Deputy Rector (PJI), and Ir. Zulkili Azamuddin, Director of Facility Management, for successfully organising the session.

Hari Sabtu saya dimanfaatkan dengan melawat Taman Solar 1 UiTM, Paya Besar. Taman Solar UiTM dianggarkan berkeluasan 300 ekar dan diuruskan sepenuhnya oleh UiTM Holdings Sdn. Bhd. Encik Muhammad Mubarak Ishak, Pemangku Ketua Peg. Eksekutif Kumpulan, dan En Azmil Hayat Mohd Arif, Ketua Pengurusan Aset dari UiTM Energy and Facility, memulakan acara dengan sesi pembentangan.
Taman solar dibahagikan kepada lima sektor utama: pusat penemuan, bilik penyelidikan, bilik gerakan, bilik kawalan, dan dek observasi.
Saya diberitahu bahawa, para pensyarah dari Kolej Kejuruteraan juga banyak terlibat dalam penyelidikan tenaga solar. PM Dr Nofri Yenita adalah salah seorang penyelidik yang terlibat dalam kajian solar dan telah menemani saya semasa lawatan.
Antara beberapa kajian tersebut ialah Penyelidikan Teknologi Kecekapan Tenaga, hasil kerjasama antara Kejuruteraan Elektrik, UiTM dan Jabatan Kerja Raya yang menerima anugerah artikel cemerlang oleh QS GEN News.
Saya mengucapkan terima kasih kepada pasukan pengurusan kerana meluangkan masa untuk lawatan saya ke Taman Solar UiTM. Selain daripada perkara solar, catan kesenian pada panel solar yang pecah/rosak telah menarik minat saya. Daripada membuangnya, mereka mengubahnya menjadi karya seni untuk mencantikkan ruang pejabat.
Perjalanan saya ke Paya Besasr membawa saya ke kampus Bukit Sekilau dan Padang Lalang, di mana kami membincangkan peluang yang boleh UiTM terokai seterusnya, berdasarkan nilai yang boleh dijana untuk universiti. Ucapan terima kasih, saya tujukan kepada Prof Dr Mohd Ilham, Rektor UiTM Pahang, PM Dr Wan Mohd Nazri, Timbalan Rektor (PJI), dan Ir. Zulkili Azamuddin, Pengarah Pengurusan Fasiliti, kerana berjaya menganjurkan sesi tersebut.
