Upacara Perbarisan Komandan PALAPES UiTM Atas Lantikan Naib Canselor Sebagai Komandan Ke-8

Pada 28hb Januari 2023, upacara perbarisan Komandan PALAPES telah berlangsung di padang kawad Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam. Saya dijemput menghadiri upacara perbarisan ini atas lantikan sebagai Kolonel (Kehormat) bagi Komandan PALAPES UiTM yang ke-8. Upacara tersebut melibatkan pegawai kadet PALAPES yang terdiri daripada tiga (3) perkhidmatan iaitu PALAPES Darat, Laut dan Udara. Kekuatan perbarisan adalah terdiri daripada 11 orang pegawai dan 210 orang pegawai kadet.

Turut dihadiri tetamu jemputan iaitu Rektor UiTM Cawangan Terengganu, Timbalan Rektor HEP UiTM Cawangan Melaka, Penolong Rektor UiTM Cawangan Melaka, Kampus Jasin, Pengarah Pembangunan Pelajar UiTM, Pengarah Pusat Ko-kurikulum UiTM yang mewakili Timbalan Naib Canselor HEP, dan wakil alumni PALAPES UiTM.

Upacara perbarisan dimulakan dengan perbarisan masuk padang yg diketuai oleh Kapt Ts. Dr. Mohd Aziz Aris bersama tiga orang pegawai dan pegawai kadet, diikuti dengan upacara menerima tabik hormat dari ketua jurulatih PALAPES, Timbalan Komandan PALAPES dan Komandan PALAPES. Sempena perbarisan tersebut, saya juga berkesempatan untuk menyempurnakan upacara pemakaian pangkat bagi pegawai kadet peringkat pertengahan (intermediate), dan menyampaikan sijil kecemerlangan akademik kepada pegawai-pegawai kadet PALAPES yang berjaya mencapai himpunan purata nilai gred (CGPA) 3.50 ke atas.

Upacara tersebut diteruskan dengan acara jamuan makan tengahari dan sesi serahan tugas di antara mantan Timbalan Komandan iaitu Lt Kol Prof Madya Zaid Ngah, dan Timbalan Komandan yang baru iaitu Mejar Prof Madya Ariff Mohd Ab Malik, diikuti dengan sesi penyampaian cenderahati kenangan kepada mantan Timbalan Komandan. Upacara seterusnya adalah penyampaian amanat. Di dalam amanat kali ini, saya sebagai Komandan PALAPES ke-8, memfokuskan kepada beberapa perkara penting yang menyentuh tentang tanggungjawab PTJ PALAPES yang baru diiktiraf. Saya menyeru semua warga UiTM dan anggota tentera agar sentiasa menjalinkan hubungan yang harmoni. Saya juga menasihati pegawai kadet agar sentiasa memberikan tumpuan kepada kejayaan akademik. Saya juga merakamkan penghargaan dan ucapan terima kasih kepada mantan Timbalan Komandan yang telah bersara, atas tugasan yang selama ini dilaksanakan dengan baik. Upacara ini berakhir dengan sesi menandatangani buku pelawat dan sesi bergambar pada jam 12.30 tengahari.

UiTM PALAPES COMMANDER'S PARADE CEREMONY FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF THE VICE CHANCELLOR AS THE 8TH COMMANDER

On 28 January 2023, the PALAPES Commander's parade was held at Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam. I was invited to attend this parade on the occasion of the appointment as Colonel (Honorary) of the 8th Commander of PALAPES UiTM. The ceremony was attended by PALAPES cadet officers comprising three (3) services, namely PALAPES Land, Sea and Air. The strength of the parade consisted of 11 officers and 210 cadet officers.

Also present were the Rector of UiTM Terengganu Branch, Deputy Rector of HEP UiTM Melaka Branch, the Rector of UiTM Melaka Branch, Jasin Campus, the Director of UiTM Student Development, the Director of UiTM Co-Curriculum Centre representing the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of HEP and a representative of PALAPES UiTM Alumni.

The ceremony began with a parade on the field led by Capt Ts. Dr. Mohd Aziz Aris along with three officers and cadet officers, followed by a salute by the Head Coach, Deputy Commander and Commander of PALAPES. In conjunction with the parade, I also had the opportunity to complete the rank conferment ceremony for intermediate level cadet officers and present academic excellence certificates to the successful PALAPES cadet officers who had achieved a CGPA of 3.50 and above.

The ceremony continued with a lunch and handover session between the former Deputy Commander, Lt Col Assoc Prof Zaid Ngah, and the new Deputy Commander, Major Assoc Prof Ariff Mohd Ab Malik, followed by the presentation of a memento to the former Deputy Commander. The next ceremony was the handing over of the commission. As the 8th Commander of PALAPES, I raised some important issues that touched on the responsibilities of the newly recognised PTJ PALAPES. I urged all UiTM staff and military personnel to always maintain a harmonious relationship. I also advised cadet officers to focus on academic success. I would also like to express my appreciation and gratitude to the retired former Deputy Commander for the work he has done. The ceremony ended at 12.30 p.m. with the signing of the guest book and a photo session.
