EMPOWERING BUMIPUTERA IN THE GLOBAL ARENA, UiTM ENTICES COLLABORATION WITH UNIVERSITIES IN JORDAN & KUWAIT

The UiTM delegation led by Associate Professor Dr Mohd Afandi Mat Rani, Dean of the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), travelled to Jordan and Kuwait from 19 April to 22 April 2022. The purpose of the visit was to seek collaboration with Jordanian and Kuwaiti universities in the areas of international mobility, partnership programmes, visiting professor initiatives, research and consultancy collaborations, and initiatives to attract top professors from Jordan to lecture at UiTM in order to enhance our academic standing internationally.

In addition to Contemporary Islamic Studies, other areas of study such as Halal Industry Management, Muamalat and Islamic Finance Studies, Bachelor of Applied (Al-Quran), Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Arts, Business, Archaeological Tourism, Agriculture, Engineering, Rehabilitation, Science, Information Technology System, Hotel Management and Marine Science are also considered highly suitable for attracting international students to UiTM. This follows the positive response from visitors to the education fair held in conjunction with Yes2Malaysia - The Biggest Education Malaysia Fusion EXPO Edition 2022 organised by Education Malaysia Amman & Global Assist REEXPO. During the programme, I understand that a total of 27 applicants have registered with the UiTM Institute of Graduate Studies (UiTM IGS).

The UiTM delegation also had the opportunity to meet with Professor Dr. Nidal M. Al-Ramahi (President of Zarqa University), Professor Dr. Hani H. AlDmour, (President of Al-Bayt University), Professor Dr. Mohammad A.S Alkhalailah, (President of World Islamic Science & Education) University (WAIS) and Professor Dr. Zaid Eyadat (Vice President of International Affairs, University of Amman Jordan).

I was also informed that the Malaysian Embassy in Jordan strongly supports UiTM through the Director of the Malaysia-Jordan Education Division, Associate Professor Dr Radzuwan Rasyid, who is also an alumnus of UiTM. Alhamdulliah, I am happy to hear that our graduates are doing great things for the nation in a foreign land. Thanks also to His Excellency Dato 'Mohd Ali Selamat, Malaysian Ambassador to Kuwait who also organized a Ramadhan Iftar for the UiTM delegation.

Delegasi UiTM yang diketuai oleh Profesor Madya Dr Mohd Afandi Mat Rani, Dekan Akademi Pengajian Islam Kontemporari (ACIS) telah mengadakan misi ke Jordan dan Kuwait pada 19 April hingga 22 April 2022 yang lalu. Lawatan tersebut adalah bagi menarik minta kerjasama dengan universiti – universiti di Jordan dan Kuwait dalam aspek mobiliti antarabangsa, program berkembar, inisiatif profesor pelawat, kerjasama penyelidikan dan perundingan serta inisiatif menarik minat profesor ulung di Jordan untuk menyampaikan kuliah di UiTM, dalam usaha kita meningkatkan reputasi akademik di peringkat global.

Selain bidang Pengajian Islam Kontemporari, bidang lain seperti Pengurusan Industri Halal, Muamalat dan Kewangan Islam pengajian Sarjana Muda Gunaan (Al-Quran), Perubatan, Kejururawatan, Farmasi, Pergigian, Kesenian, Perniagaan, Pelancongan Arkeologi, Pertanian, Kejuruteraan, Rehabilitasi, Sains, Sistem Teknologi Maklumat, Pengurusan Hotel, Sains Marin turut dilihat sebagai berpotensi tinggi dalam menarik minat kemasukan pelajar antarabangsa ke UiTM. Ini adalah selepas mendapat maklum balas positif pengunjung yang hadir ke pameran pendidikan sempena Yes2Malaysia - The Biggest Education Malaysia Fusion EXPO Edition 2022 anjuran Education Malaysia Amman & Global Assist REEXPO. Saya difahamkan seramai 27 orang calon telah mendaftar dengan Institut Pengajian Siswazah semasa program berlangsung.

Delegasi UiTM juga berkesempatan mengadakan pertemuan dengan Profesor Dr Nidal M. Al-Ramahi (Presiden Zarqa University), Profesor Dr Hani H. AlDmour, (Presiden Al-Bayt University), Profesor Dr Mohammad A.S Alkhalailah, (Presiden The World Islamic Science & Education University (WAIS) dan Profesor Dr Zaid Eyadat (Timbalan Presiden International Affairs Universiti Amman Jordan).

Saya juga dimaklumkan bahawa, UiTM mendapat kerjasama baik dari pihak kedutaan Malaysia di Jordan menerusi Pengarah Bahagian Pendidikan Malaysia-Jordan, iaitu Profesor Madya Dr Radzuwan Rasyid yang juga merupakan alumni UiTM. Alhamdulliah, bangga saya apabila mendapat khabar alumni kita yang hebat, berkhidmat demi negara, di negara asing.
