Naib Canselor Dijemput Menyempurnakan Majlis Penutupan Program Kerjaya Graduan 2023

Pada 23 Februari 2023, saya telah dijemput menyempurnakan Majlis Penutupan Program Kerjaya Graduan, anjuran bersama antara Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR), UiTM Shah Alam dan Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) Negeri Selangor yang bermula dari 21 hingga 23 Februari 2023. Turut hadir adalah Yang Berusaha Encik Ismail Abi Hashim, Pengarah Pertubuhan Keselamatan Sosial (PERKESO) Negeri Selangor; Yang Berbahagia Profesor Dr. Mohd Sazili Shahibi, Timbalan Naib Canselor (Hal Ehwal Pelajar); Yang Berhormat Dato’ Mohd Imran Tamrin, Presiden Majlis Belia Negeri Selangor; Yang Berusaha Encik Jamalludin Haji Sulaiman, Ketua Pustakawan UiTM; Timbalan-Timbalan Pengarah PERKESO Negeri Selangor, wakil-wakil industri dan komuniti serta para staf, dan pelajar.

Saya dimaklumkan program ini berjaya menghimpunkan lebih 20 majikan yang menawarkan lebih 5,000 kekosongan jawatan kepada graduan UiTM dan komuniti setempat. Satu peluang yang pastinya sangat bermakna buat kami di UiTM. Pada Konvokesyen ke-96 akan datang, dianggarkan seramai 31,000 ribu graduan UiTM akan menembusi pasaran pekerjaan. Justeru, melalui penganjuran program sebegini, ia dapat membantu graduan UiTM mendapatkan peluang pekerjaan yang merentasi pelbagai sektor dengan mudah dan berkesan.

Namun begitu, kejayaan kebolehpasaran graduan bukan sahaja dilihat melalui keupayaan mendapat pekerjaan malah mampu menjana pendapatan sendiri. Oleh itu, Pelan Strategik Kebolehpasaran Graduan 2021 hingga 2025 UiTM memberi fokus kepada memperhebatkan jaringan kolaborasi di antara Universiti dengan pihak industri dan komuniti.

VICE-CHANCELLOR INVITED TO OFFICIATE THE CLOSING CEREMONY OF THE GRADUATE CAREER PROGRAMME 2023

On 23 February 2023, I was invited to officiate the Closing Ceremony of the Graduate Career Program, jointly organized by the Tun Abdul Razak Library (PTAR), UiTM Shah Alam, and the Selangor State Social Security Organization (SOCSO) from 21 to 23 February 2023. Also present were Yang Berusaha Encik Ismail Abi Hashim, Director of the Selangor State Social Security Organization (SOCSO); The Honourable Professor Dr. Mohd Sazili Shahibi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student Affairs); the Honourable Dato' Mohd Imran Tamrin, President of the Selangor State Youth Council; Mr. Jamalludin Haji Sulaiman, Chief Librarian of UiTM; Deputy Directors of SOCSO Selangor, industry and community representatives as well as staff, and students.

I was informed that this program has successfully brought together more than 20 employers who offered more than 5,000 vacancies to UiTM graduates and the local community. An opportunity that definitely meant a lot to us at UiTM. In the upcoming 96th Convocation, an estimated 31,000 thousand UiTM graduates will penetrate the job market. Thus, this program was an attempt to provide job opportunities to UiTM graduates across various sectors easily and effectively.

However, the success of graduates' employability is not only seen through the ability to get a job but also to generate their own income. Therefore, UiTM's Graduate Employability Strategic Plan 2021 to 2025 focuses on intensifying the network of collaboration between the University and the industry as well as the community.
