UiTM Receives 2022 GIFA Award For Islamic Social Responsibility

The Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) recently named Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) as the recipient of the Islamic Social Responsibility Award 2022. The award was presented by His Excellency Abdoulkader Kamel Mohamed, Prime Minister of the Republic of Djibouti, to UiTM representative Dr Mohd Ashrof Zaki Yaakob, Director of Zakat, Sadaqah and Waqf Division (ZAWAF), and witnessed by Professor Dr Humayon Dar, Global Founder of the Award Islamic Finance (GIFA), on 14 September 2022 at the Djibouti Kempinski Palace, Djibouti, East Africa.

This award recognises Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) for its contributions to Islamic social responsibility through the instruments of Zakat and Almsgiving (Sadaqah), which have greatly benefited students, university staff and the Malaysian public. Established in 1998, the Zakat, Sadaqah and Waqf Division (ZAWAF) of UiTM has so far distributed zakat assistance totalling RM50 million to over 112,000 needy students and residents of UiTM.

UiTM TERIMA ANUGERAH GIFA ISLAMIC SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY 2022.

Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) telah dinobatkan sebagai penerima Islamic Social Responsibility Award 2022 oleh Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) baru-baru ini. Anugerah tersebut telah disampaikan oleh diterima oleh Perdana Menteri Republik Djibouti, TYT Abdoulkader Kamel Mohamed kepada wakil UiTM, Dr. Mohd Ashrof Zaki Yaakob, Pengarah Bahagian Zakat, Sedekah dan Wakaf (ZAWAF), dan disaksikan oleh Professor Dr Humayon Dar, Pengasas Global Islamic Finance Awards (GIFA) yang berlangsung di Djibouti Palace Kempinski, Djibouti, Afrika Timur pada 14 September 2022.

Anugerah ini merupakan pengiktirafan kepada Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) atas segala sumbangan tanggungjawab sosial Islam menerusi instrumen Zakat dan Sedekah yang telah banyak membantu para pelajar, kakitangan universiti dan juga masyarakat awam di Malaysia. Menerusi Bahagian Zakat, Sedekah dan Wakaf (ZAWAF) yang ditubuhkan sejak tahun 1998, UiTM telah menyalurkan bantuan Zakat melebihi RM50 juta kepada lebih 112,000 orang penerima dalam kalangan pelajar dan warga UiTM yang memerlukan.
